The largest city in Canada and the capital of Ontario, Toronto has long been a popular tourist destination for those hoping to explore the surrounding regions that include Niagra, Waterloo and the Great Lakes.  Toronto is a large city with many diverse districts and plenty of things to see and do.  The Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario are both highly recommended, as is the CN Tower (the tallest free-standing building in North America) and the Toronto ZooToronto is also located in close proximity to regions with a number of parks and trails perfect for biking or hiking, such as Toronto Island, the Kawarthas, and Muskoka.  If cuisine is more your style then the East Toronto, North Toronto, West Toronto and Northeast Toronto districts will be fun to explore - they are home to the Little India, Greektown, Little Moscow, Little Poland, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese and Italian communities.

Toronto is serviced by the Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport which is located almost thirty kilometres to the west of Toronto city.  There are two terminals in operation at the airport, known as Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 (Terminal 2 is in a state of demolition).  Air Canada uses the airport as it's major hub, but many other international airlines also fly into the complex including Air Transat (London), British Airways (London), and Thomas Cook Airlines (Glasgow, London and Manchester).  There are several car-hire companies based at the airport including Budget, Dollar/Thrifty, Avis, National/Alamo and Hertz.  All are located in garages opposite the airport terminal exits.
